More new mosaic art

6/11/2014

We have more new art to share with you all! It has been a busy couple of weeks and we now have 5 additional mosaic pieces that have been added to our gallery.
Picture
Floral in Pink (22”x28”)

Featuring beautiful and intricate pink peonies, this piece was created whilst in the mood for something very feminine and pretty.

Picture
The Blues (32”x50”)
An abstract piece inspired by the free flowing, soulful movement of blues style music. Vibrant colors pop and add a flair of fun and excitement.

Picture
In flight (22”x31”)

This mosaic is an observation on the faithfulness and simplicity of swans. These beautiful creatures have always been an inspiration: swans commit to their mates for life. They travel incredible journeys together, flying very far distances during their annual migration. Swans stay together in family units their entire lives, and rarely do they mate again once one of the pair passes.

Picture
East of the Summit (22”x31”)

With much of our family on the eastern side of the state, we spend many a long car ride making the journey to visit our loved ones. This mosaic is inspired by one such trip, just before we reached the pass (traveling home from Eastern Washington), the sun was setting on the hills creating beautiful shadows.

Picture
Glass Flowers  (24”x24”)

A brightly colored abstract mosaic, made just for fun! This colorful piece creates an energetic and spirited sense, with intense hues and an overall lively design.

These mosaics and others that are shown in our gallery can be purchased directly from us, but keep in mind a huge portion of our business is custom mosaic work! If you see something you like but prefer a different color scheme to fit your interior, let us know. Maybe you want to work with us to come up with your own completely unique, custom mosaic – we love making custom art and want to hear from you. E-mail us with your questions and custom work ideas: info@showcasemosaics.com.

New Mosaic Art Pieces

The past few months have kept us very busy with a number of installation pieces. We have been traveling all over the place (Alaska, Florida, Louisiana, Connecticut, North Carolina, and California, just to name a few), and working with some wonderful clients! Now that things have slowed down a tad, we are taking a breather and enjoying the chance to make some new art.

Commissioned custom mosaics are interesting and enjoyable to make because we get the chance to meet new clients and translate their ideas in to glass art. This provides a lot of variety in the mosaics being made and everything is suited to a particular client and their needs. However, in between projects, we appreciate the time to allow inspiration to take hold and the chance to make new pieces purely for the fun of it!

PictureCentral Park in the Snow (30" x 36")
This mosaic was inspired by a photo Sandy took during a quick trip to New York in February.  She had been to Connecticut finishing up a floor installation and had an extra day to do some sightseeing.

Fiori 34" x 26" glass frame
Picture
Flower Power 36" x 36"
PictureEvening Walk on the Seine 26" x 33" Glass frame
This is a mosaic inspired by a photograph our daughter took on a trip to Paris.  She enjoyed walking along the river Seine in the evenings, seeing all the lights from the buildings glowing in the water.  We had her take tons of pictures and this was a particular favorite.  Tres belle!

PictureJourney 36" x 72" full triptych
This abstract gray and orange triptych series is made of glass, semi-precious stones (tigers eye, jade, quartz, goldstone, agate and moss agate), beads, handmade stoneware pieces, gold, smalti and gems.  Using a variety of media gives this piece an extra level of intrigue and dimension.

PictureSpring Garden 36" x 30"
This fun garden mosaic features a beautiful peacock being admired by all.  We had a very rainy spring here in the Pacific Northwest so this piece was inspired by a wish for some balmy and warm sunny weather.

This summer Historical Highfield Hall (56 Highfield Drive, Falmouth, MA) presents SIGNATURES, a cutting edge mosaic invitational exhibition. As  you will see, the mosaics selected for this exhibition represent not  only a cross
section of styles but also the extraordinarily diverse  choices of materials that showcase each artist’s “signature”.

“It is my hope that this exhibition will provide you with endless viewing pleasure and inspire you to not only see the mosaics  around you but also seek out the many galleries and museums that feature this extraordinary Art Form.” Linda Dadak, curator
Signatures.

About the Curator:
Linda Dadak, a Cape Cod Mosaic  artist, brought the first mosaic exhibition to New England in 2004 which was held at the Higgins Gallery on the campus of Cape Cod Community  College.

In the summer of 2011, Linda co-curated The National Mosaic Exhibition  of Cape Cod at Highfield Hall in Falmouth, Ma. In
addition to showing 65 works of mosaic art, classes, gallertalks, mosaic bus tour and films  were all a part of this very popular and unique exhibition.

This summer, Linda has invited 15 nationally and internationally known mosaic artists from around the country to participate in
Signatures. This exhibition presents some of the best work from today’s mosaic  artists and will inspire you to take a closer look at the extraordinary  diversity of this art form and show that these contemporary artists  indeed have a distinct Signature.
